Thought on Madison show 15th October

Sounded like a good set list. Across The Border in slot 2 must have been a big surprise. Ain't Got You seems pretty standard now which is great as I'm hoping to hear it in Philly. I read that Bruce said something about being back with the E-Street band in the future which, if true, makes it the comment of the tour. Finally Blinded By The Light was in the encores... now to hear that in Philly would make breaking the bank worth it!!

3 Weeks to Philly

3 Weeks to Philly

My D&D Tour recommences in 3 weeks with the two Philadelphia shows. I’m hoping for some great set lists as they tend to come out in Philly. The four or five shows now played since early October are typically featuring 10 songs I didn’t hear on the tour earlier in the year.

My wish list for songs I’ve not heard yet I’d like to hear in Philly:

Already played on the tour
Growin’ Up
Janey
Backstreets
Blinded By The Light
One Step Up
Valentine’s Day
Ain’t Got You
Thunder Road
Atlantic City
Cynthia
All That Heaven Will Allow
Does This Bus Stop
Back In Your Arms
Lift Me Up
The Promise
Living Proof

Not yet played on the tour
Fire
Rosalita
Blood Brothers
Spirit In The Night
Jackson Cage

I guess there’s not a lot Bruce hasn’t played somewhere! Apologies if I’ve mistakenly classed something as already played when it is not the case and vice-versa.

http://www.gophila.com/ is a great website for anyone also embarking on the trip to Philly.

Germany shows - faith was rewarded!

Just noticed all the tickets I ordered for the German shows have all been billed to my credit card so looks like I'm OK (despite all the uncertainty and some people having their orders cancelled for ordering more than two tickets.)

A strange feeling indeed - being pleased to see a charge against your credit card!!

Always bring a spare......

I read on the Greasy Lake website that there is some confusion over the Germany ticket sales at Eventim. The site stated that you could buy 2 tickets - most people took this to mean two tickets per Springsteen show - however Eventim are telling people you can only get a total of 2 tickets per household for the whole tour. I've been given a binding reservation that says I've got two tickets each for four shows so I don't see how they can cancel some of these. My friend Sascha enlisted a number of people to buy tickets for different shows so I guess we are covered anyway. I can't imagine Eventim cancelling lots of orders that have been confirmed and tend to agree with Viv's post at GreasyLake.

Always bring a spare......(nothing to do with Orlando VFC DVD)
Provided I get the tickets from Eventim I have ordered I expect to have a few spares. Will deceide whether I will attend all the German shows after Badlands trips have been announced and I know whether I've got London tickets. Exitsting Bruce friends will get priority for any spares.

Venues
From a quick web trawl last night ... Berlin looks pretty big, Hamburg upto 16,000, Frankfurt - been there before, around 12,000 to 16,000, I think. Dusseldorf looks like the best venue 5,000 or so max. The bigger venues will have reduced capacity for the D&D shows but it's appealing to go to a venue which has a full capacity that will match the show.

Flights
Checked out flights from Manchester to Frankfurt, Dusseldorf back to Manchester (assuming you just visit the final two Germany shows). Flight cost with BA inc all booking fees and taxes was around £135. Budget airlines Ryanair and Easyjet also fly UK to Germany but i think they only fly from the London area.

That's all for now

Germany ticket success!

Managed to get tickets for four German shows - Hamburg June 11, Berlin June 12, Frankfurt June 15, Dusseldorf June 16. Tickets were surprisingly easy to get on the web - though a lot of people may have been caught out as tickets were not expected to go on sale til next week.

Don't know whether I will go to all these - wanted to keep my options open and may sell some of them if I go with a Badlands trip and have success with London tickets. Feels good to know I will definitely be going to a few shows!!!

Bruce-related April Fool's jokes on Backstreets

See the above link for some great jokes today. I like the Bruce I-Pod best of all. Shame it's not real!

VH1 Storytellers

Wow Backtreets have been given 140 tickets to share amongst fans for Bruce's VH1 Storytellers recording on April 4th.

Now if only I had chosen to take my NYC holiday a little later.......

I'm still anxiously awaiting tour dates for Bruce. Everytime I see there's four or five new emails in my inbox I'm thinking tour announcement but nothing yet. Johnny Walker mentioned on Radio 2 this week that Bruce will tour the UK in May so it is looking pretty definite.

Til the next time

ITunes and Devils and Dust

Got home from work tonight keen to download D&D from ITunes. Turns out it is only available from the US store and you need a US addressed ccard to buy it. A great example of music rights issues scuppering the true fans. Why can't they just let us benefit from the technology???????????

Freehold Fire Engine

Freehold Fire Engine

A great sight to see in Bruce's home town. Bruce has been known to ride
in it, showing his kids around where he grew up.

Devils and Dust

Heard the new single today. Great track.

I think this could work well as an atmospheric show-opener in Tom Joad style.
